Coattail Digital Media team members feature professional backgrounds in graphic design, web design, and communication. This experience ranges from private sector marketing and communications, to political campaign management, and more. Additionally, our team has staffed local, county-wide, state, and even federal campaigns; assisting with communications and brand development in each of these capacities.

Daniel Szczesny
Dan is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and recently completed his juris doctor at the University of Illinois at Chicago - John Marshall Law School. Dan’s first experience in communications came when he traveled to Washington D.C. in 2012 to work in the office of U.S. Senator Mark Kirk, and then U.S. Senator Marco Rubio. While interning for the Senators, Dan assisted communications staff in both offices. Additionally, Dan assisted with field work for the Romney campaign in the battleground states of Ohio and Pennsylvania. While in Washington D.C., Dan co-founded his first company, Brotein, a fitness nutrition company. Using guerilla marketing techniques, Brotein achieved sales in 48 states and 13 countries in its first year. Dan moved back to Chicago-land where he served as a municipal police officer for six years. During Dan’s service in the Police Department he became Secretary, and then President, of his Fraternal Order of Police Lodge and launched a social media presence for the first time in the organization’s history. Dan set fundraising records for the organization as a result of his digital media outreach and subsequent data management and implementation. Since returning to Chicago-land, Dan has volunteered and served as staff on numerous campaigns for municipal, county-wide, and state-wide elections. This most recently includes serving as campaign manager for Illinois State Representative Deanne Mazzochi’s successful campaigns during the 2018 and 2020 elections.
